Niedrige Bruchraten und homogenes Ätzverhalten
Stangl Semiconductor Equipment, Anbieter nasschemischer Anlagen für die Solartechnik, hat vor wenigen Wochen mit der Markt-einführung einer neuen "Inline Wet Process"-Anlage für Silicium-Solarzellen begonnen.

Die neue Inline-Anlage "Linea" wurde zum nasschemischen Reinigen und Ätzen von kristallinen Solarwafern mit horizontalem Produkttransport konzipiert. Das "Linea"-System ist für 1700 und 3400 Wafer/Stunde (156 mm) verfügbar und erreicht damit eine Produktionskapazität von 30 bzw. 60 MW. Mit der neuen Anlage ergänzt Stangl, eine Tochtergesellschaft der Singulus Technologies AG, sein Portfolio für nasschemische Prozessanlagen in der Solarzellenfertigung.
Horizontales Transportsystem
Die Inline-Anlage basiert auf einem neu entwickelten horizontalen Transportsystem mit einem speziell darauf abgestimmten Anströmsystem für das Ätzmedium. Diese sanfte Prozessführung ermöglicht niedrige Bruchraten von < 0,1% und ein sehr homogenes Ätzverhalten. Mit Waferdicken im Bereich von 150 µm entspricht die neue Stangl-Anlage aktuellsten Anforderungen moderner Massenproduktion in der Silicium-Solartechnik.
Die neue "Linea"-Anlage zeichnet sich nach den Angaben des Herstellers durch eine hohe Flexibilität in Bezug auf Wafertyp, Wafergröße und auch Waferdicke sowie einen sparsamen Einsatz von Chemikalien aus.

Ausbau des Solargeschäfts
Singulus Technologies ist weltweiter Marktführer von Optical Disc Produktionslinien für CDs, DVDs sowie Blu-Ray Discs und bietet als einziger Hersteller die komplette Palette an: Mastering, Molding und Replikationslinien. Neben der Weiterentwicklung des Kerngeschäftes Optical Disc ist die Diversifikation in das Arbeitsgebiet Solar die wichtigste strategische Zielsetzung.
Stangl und Singulus wollen das Solargeschäft konsequent weiter ausbauen. Stangl ist heute einer der wenigen Anbieter sowohl nasschemischer Anlagen für die kristalline Silicium-Solartechnik als auch für die Dünnschicht-Solartechnik. Singulus vermarktet seit September 2008 seine eigene Solar-Beschichtungsanlage, die auf dem Know-how im Kernbereich Optical Disc aufbaut. Dabei werden die Erfahrung und die Marktkenntnisse von Stangl genutzt.
In Kombination mit den Anlagen von Stangl wird Singulus Technologies mit der Nasschemie und der Vakuumbeschichtung gleich zwei wichtige Anlagenbaugruppen einer Fertigungslinie für kristalline Silicium-Solarzellen anbieten. Ziel ist es, bei Produktionsanlagen für kristalline Solarzellen in den nächsten Jahren die Position weltweit auszubauen.

A new "Inline Wet Process” Equipment for Si Cells
Stangl Semiconductor Equipment AG, producer of qualified wet process equipment, started the market introduction of its new "Linea” Inline wet process equipment for photovoltaic Si cells.
"Linea” is a horizontally working inline wet process platform for cleaning and etching of crystalline solar wafers. Stangl´s "Linea” inline etching system can be configured up to max. 1700 or 3400 wafers per hour (156 mm) which equals a production capacity of 30 and 60 MW. "Linea” completes the portfolio of Stangl’s integrated wet process solutions for solar cell manu-
facturing lines.
The design is based on a newly developed sophisticated transport system and a special chemical flow system to process the wafers horizontally with a very low breakage rate (< 0.1%) and a high etching uniformity. Stangl’s new system "Linea” follows the trend towards handling solar wafers down to 150 μm.
Not only the highly integrated design and a high throughput, but also the high availability and low breakage rate make "Llinea” attractive for solar cell manufacturers worldwide. Furthermore, "Linea” is characterized by its high flexibility concerning wafer type, size and thickness as well as its reduced chemical consumption.

Singulus Technologies is the global market leader for optical disc production lines for CDs, DVDs and Blu-ray Discs and the only provider to offer the entire product range: mastering, molding and replication lines. In addition to the further expansion of the core activities Optical Disc, the diversification into the work area Solar is the most important strategic goal.
Stangl and Singulus will systematically expand the Solar activities. As of today, Stangl is one of the few providers of wet-chemical machines for both the crystalline silicon solar technology as well as for the thin-film solar technology. Singulus has been marketing its own solar coating machine, which is based on the know-how gained in the core area of Optical Disc, since September 2008. In addition, Stangl’s experience and market knowledge will be tapped.
Combined with Stangl’s machines, Singulus Technologies will be able to offer the two important machine groups with wet-chemical and vacuum coating processes for a production line for crystalline silicon solar cells.
