ISH 2015 – Extensive complementary programme with topics on the theme of "Comfort meets Technology"

The industry will be presenting its new products, many for the first time in the world, for the bathroom, for building services, energy and air-conditioning technologies and renewable energies at ISH in Frankfurt am Main from 10 to 14 March 2015. In parallel to the extensive range of products on offer from some 2,400 exhibitors, the wide and varied complementary programme offers an opportunity for the exchange of information and for in-depth discussions of the latest issues in the sector. Centre stage at ISH in 2015 is the key theme entitled "Comfort meets Technology". And ISH has many relevant highlights on offer – in terms both of water and energy.

ISH Water: Water for People
On display in the Pop up my Bathroom Trend Forum in Hall 3.0, are the bathroom trends for 2015/16. The Association of the German Sanitation Industry (Vereinigung Deutsche Sanitärwirtschaft – VDS) will be inviting all ISH visitors – including representatives of the media and industry, particularly, however, skilled tradesmen and women, bathroom planners and staff responsible for displays in trade and retail shops, to discuss the relevant issues. Four new bathroom scenarios will be staged, which, under the overall heading of "Freibad" (a pun that refers to freedom in bathroom design and outdoor bathing), will give insights into different lifestyles and their requirements.

Integrated into the Trend Show is the lecture forum "Pop up my Bathroom Atelier". This serves as a central communication hub. The focus is on creative topics such as bathroom interiors, holistic bathroom planning, design issues and bathroom trends. As well as the exhibitors' innovations on display, there will also be some interesting workshops and lectures, which visitors will be able to attend at ISH, covering all aspects of the holistic approach to bathroom planning.

This presentation is complemented by the special show "wall + floor". The format is being used for the second time in succession, and enables innovative products and furnishing concepts for the floor and the walls to be represented at ISH. Wall + floor serves as a clearing house for furnishing ideas in the bathroom.

Awaiting visitors in Hall 5.1, at the stand of the German Swimming Pool and Wellness Association (Bundesverband Schwimmbad und Wellness – bsw), is a lecture area with an integral lounge. The special exhibition "Valuable Water" is devoted to drinking water hygiene and heating safety.

The German Central Association of Sanitation, Heating and Air-Conditioning (Zentralverband Sanitär, Heizung, Klima – ZVSHK) will, for the first time, be presenting their research project "Bathroom of the Future", which they are conducting in collaboration with the University of Art and Design (Hochschule für Gestaltung) in Offenbach. Design students have developed new product ideas for existing bathrooms – in line with the philosophy of "Design for All" – which will help people to live long and independent lives in their own homes. What is special about this project is that both end users and people working in the sanitation, heating and

air-conditioning trades have all been involved in the development process. The five winners of the 2013 ZVSHK Product Awards "Bathroom Comfort for Generations" are actively supporting the project.

ISH Energy: Efficient heating systems and renewable energies
At ISH 2015 there will again be an information and communication platform for the technology of plant construction and the real-estate industry as well as for planners and engineers. Under the title of Building Forum, the Federal German Industrial Association for Building Services and Technical Installations (Bundesindustrieverband Technische Gebäudeausrüstung e.V. – BTGA) and the Association for Automation and Management of Homes and Buildings in the Federation of German Machine and Plant Manufacturers (Verband Deutscher Maschinen und Anlagenbau – VDMA) will together, and for the first time, be presenting all things to do with the energy revolution in the real-estate industry and building renovation. Additionally, the BTGA, this time in collaboration with the German Property Federation (Zentraler Immobilienausschuss – ZIA), will again be presenting the "BTGA Real Estate Forum", where examples of efficiency savings in terms of building services and technical installations in plant construction, both for new builds and renovations, will be presented.

The Association of the German House, Energy and Environmental Technology Industry (Bundesindustrieverband Deutschland Haus-, Energie- und Umwelttechnik e.V. – BDH) and Messe Frankfurt will be staging the Technology and Energy Forum in Galleria 1, between Heating Halls 8 and 9. Under the title "Energy and renewables", everything here will revolve around modern, high-efficiency heating technology "made in Germany". With the help of eleven partner associations relating to energy production and industry, the forum will deal with all relevant aspects of the heating market. Information boards, documentaries and lectures will provide information on all the heating technologies currently available on the market, from modern condensing technology right through to the latest fuel-cell technology. The major sources of energy in the heating market will all be covered. These include gas, oil, electricity and renewables. There will also be a continuing focus on hybrid heating systems, i.e. installations that combine fossil energy sources with renewables. The German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Energie – BMWi) will assume patronage of the Technology and Energy Forum.

In the Stove Forum, the market partners of the AdK (Working Group of the German Tiled Stove Industry), the HKI (House, Heating and Kitchen Technology Industrial Association) and the ZVSHK (German Central Association of Sanitation, Heating and Air-Conditioning) will once again be exhibiting in a dedicated area at ISH 2015. The special show in Hall 9.2 offers a clear, approachable overview of the significance in terms of energy and climate policy, of using wood as a fuel. The lecture forum will discuss current issues in the sector, such as energy policy, the potential for wood as a fuel and technical developments and trends.

In its special show, "Demography and Energy", the ZVSHK demonstrates the importance of the sanitation, heating and air-conditioning trades in construction work that is both energy-efficient and suited to the needs of the elderly. With its studio-shk the ZVSHK will, moreover, be producing daily, up-to-the-minute news bulletins from ISH, which will be broadcast live over the internet.

Aircontec – Air-conditioning, cooling and ventilation
Air-conditioning, cooling and ventilation technology is represented in the ISH Energy section under the name of Aircontec. Exhibitors here will present their innovations in Halls 11.0, 11.1. and 10.2. Among the sector's trending topics are systems integration, increasing energy efficiency and the linking in of renewable energy sources.

Aircontec also has two items to offer for the complementary programme. The Air-conditioning Forum, organised by the Building Climate Trade Association (Fachverband Gebäude-Klima e. V. – FGK) will be presenting, in a series of easily assimilable informational displays, high-end solutions for increasing energy efficiency in non-domestic buildings. These include sorption air-conditioning systems, high-efficiency heat-circulation loops as well as reversible heat pumps.

Since 2007, building-related cooling technology has been a fixed feature of ISH/Aircontec. And in 2015, the Association of German Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Companies (Verband Deutscher Kälte-Klima-Fachbetriebe e.V. – VDKF) will again be organising the IKK Building Forum in Hall 10.2., in cooperation with Messe Frankfurt. Here, specialist firms will be exhibiting their system solutions for planners, engineering and architectural consultants, innovative members of the skilled trades and facility managers. The exhibition will be complemented by lectures given by experts in their field, as part of the adjoining lecture forum.

Competitions
The Design Plus powered by ISH competition, again, leaves us in no doubt about the high value placed on climate protection, energy efficiency and sustainability at ISH. Messe Frankfurt's prize rewards innovative design concepts and outstanding products from ISH exhibitors, which distinguish themselves through the optimal interplay of sustainability, aesthetics and functionality. It is one of the best known and most prestigious design competitions in Germany. The award-winning solutions can be seen in a special display throughout the duration of ISH.

The Innovation Award Architecture and Technology stresses the importance of architectural quality in building services engineering. Projects submitted will be presented in detail within the framework of the special exhibition.

The ZVSHK will once again be sponsoring its product award "Bathroom Comfort for Generations" at ISH 2015. The competition focuses on bathroom products, which best combine the demands of barrier-free building with aspects relating to comfort and safety. The ZVSHK has been fortunate in acquiring as patron, Barbara Hendricks, Federal Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety. An adjudicating panel of international experts will assess all the products submitted in the light of the guiding principle of "Design for All". The panel of adjudicators is supported by the German branch of the "Design for All" movement: Design für Alle – Deutschland e.V. (EDAD).

Additionally, at ISH 2015, the themed guided tours will again be on offer, free-of-charge, for architects, designers, planners and engineers from home and abroad. The tours will start and finish at the Outlook Lounge in Hall 4.2, where free drinks and snacks will be available. Dates and times, registration arrangements and other information on the guided tours can be found under the heading "Events" at www.ish.messefrankfurt.com or at www.outlook.messefrankfurt.com.
